Stepping Out of the Boat

These are pictures of Claire cooking our first meal together in our new apartment. It was dinner the first full day that we were there. At first we weren't sure how to turn the stove on because when you turn the dial nothing happened. Thinking over the issue for a couple seconds we soon realized why there were about 30 small boxes of matches in our cupboards. Sure enough we have to lite the stove by hand. However the small window that Claire uses to cool hersellf while cooking creates an entirely new problem: the wind blows the flame out making in necessiary to relight the stove.
